He is pure crap!

-People think they need to laugh at his jokes and say he is funny because they are afraid that if they dont laugh and say he is funny, others will think they are not intellectual enough to comprehend his high brow humor, when in fact the guy is just a moron who steals from other funny comics.

If you pour milk into root beer, its is not root beer anymore; it is something new.

Now, being much older, and having a much more advanced understanding of human psychology, I have realized that Kurt Cobain was and is nothing but an immature baby who’s suicide was a narcissistic temper-tantrum. Anybody with half a brain will easily how pitiful. He martyred himself, and tried to portray himself as being drastically different from everyone else, which he wasnt in the least.

First of all, Kurt thinks his parents divorce makes him different than everyone else, but you know what? Almost everybody in America has divorced parents. This actually makes him fit in more.

One of the problems I have with Kurt’s fame is that “Nevermind” came out in 1991 and he died in 1994. Thats barely four years of being famous and active. Though many of the aforementioned rock “gods” were not in the limelight for too long, one must bare in mind how different the times were then. Rock was just getting started; it was a time of exploration and innocence. Drug use was a relatively new thing, and there was a revolution going on. Many of the deaths appear to be mistakes and not suicides.

So why did Kurt Cobain kill himself? Or perhaps what is a much better question is why didnt Dave Grohl or Kris Novoselic kill themselves? The obvious argument would be that the music was Kurt’s, and therefore he was more deeply connected to the fame and controversy about being a voice for a generation. Now my issue with this is that Dave Grohl has clearly shown to us that he is just as skilled a songwriter as Kurt is, and in my opinion, “Everlong” may be one of the most emotional songs I have ever heard. But with Kurt, was he really so distressed about his title, or was being the voice of a generation exactly what he wanted? After reading his suicide note, it is obvious that he wanted to be portry himself as a complicated and tortured artist who gave his soul to the world he loved so much. Is this a Jesus complex or what?

One of the things I noticed most of this is how he fishes for compliments and attempts to portray himself as being far beyond the comprehension of all other humans. He asks himself “why dont you just enjoy it?” This gives us good insight into his psyche. What he is telling us here is that he hated his success. So why does he resent his success? He resents his success because he does not want to be happy, because being happy means he is like everyone else, which is not his goal. We must keep in mind his narcisicim. Kurt Cobain wants to not only convince himself he is a rare gem meant to worshipped by us, but he wants the world to believe it to. What he sadly discovered was that his accomplishment only proved to him that he was not a “special little flower.” He was no different than anyone else, actually he is a poster child for the overly emotional, spoiled, middle class, white kid from the suburbs. He could not cope with this reality, so he constantly tried to appear mysterious, but as Ishmael says: “It is easy to act as if one were hiding a secret.”

I dont understand how anybody could think of him as a good person seeing that he claimed to commiting suicide in a way to ensure his daughter has a better upbringing without him. He is actually punishing his daughter as a way to punish his parents for getting divorced. He is bestowing upon her a much harder life than he had. Because he is self-obsessed, he resents his daughter for being a “creation” which has an identity beyond his. Unlike his songs, in which he almost always sings about himself, his daughter is her own person. His identity is lessened by her, and through suicide, he ends on a performance that solidifies him as a “genius” musician, which he is not. He is a baby who used music as a way to get attention. He doesnt care about people at all, he actually says he hates them in his suicide note. All in all, Kurt Cobain wanted the world to view him as a complicated martyr who gave us his soul, when he is actually he is a run of the mill self-pitying  crybaby who only appears “deep” because he KEEPS himself separated from humanity. And as the greeks always said, “of you are not part of society, then you are a god or an animal.”

I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person, and as a result, I know that I lack the present ability to comprehend important political issues. Though I try to understand them, I know that my opinion should not be trusted, due to not knowing all the angles of the topic.
